In our Autumn colours. The Old Smoothy is a relaxed-fitting brushed Tencel shirt that is just perfect for everyday use. Tencel is a material that is made from 100% natural products derived from trees and cotton and the processes involved in its production of it allow it to have many superior qualities to cotton. These also allow the natural "worn in" look, that our customers have always loved about this shirt.
The shirt comes with contrasting turtle shell buttons, plus a hidden button-down collar, allowing you to wear the shirt how you want to. The shirt is naturally slightly longer in length. Allowing you to choose whether to wear it tucked in with some trousers, or untucked with some denim jeans or shorts for a more laid-back look on the beach. The Mackinaw Wool Cruiser by Filson is the most versatile cold-weather protection you’ll find–when you want to wear one jacket, no matter what direction the weather turns, nothing performs better. The extremely durable wool from Pantex is an uncommonly tight weave that resists wind while remaining breathable. Mackinaw Wool insulates wet or dry–due to its complex fiber structure, it can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water without feeling damp or clammy. With the four snap-flap pockets on the front and a full-width map/chart pocket covering the entire back, two layers of wool cover most of the torso, right where it’s needed most.
Originally patented in 1914 as the Wool Cruising Shirt, C.C. Filson’s Cruiser was designed for foresters and timber cruisers in the rain-soaked Pacific Northwest forests. Offered as a pullover shirt as well as a button-front jacket, the Cruiser rapidly became one of the most-imitated jackets on the market. Since its versatile performance was also appreciated by hunters, Filson also introduced a red & black plaid version, which was one of the earliest high-visibility camouflage patterns. (Deer see in black & white, and the blocked pattern helps to break up a solid silhouette in the forest.) When we receive your order, you'll receive a confirmation message and will be able to track your order if you already use, or download, the Shop app - incidentally, the app lets you log in and pay at Gun Hill and many other online stores, swiftly, securely and easily.
What happens next
If it's Monday to Saturday, during the day, we'll pick and pack your order immediately from Burnham Market or Holt and take it to the post office and you should receive it the next day. If your order is placed towards the end of the working day, the post office may not be open or will have had their collection for the day, in which case your order may take an extra day to arrive. Overnight orders will be posted the following morning, Sunday orders will be posted on Monday morning. In any case, we will always try to ensure that your order is sent to you as quickly as possible.
Shipping information
Orders over £99 are sent free of charge in the UK. We usually specify first-class signed-for but occasionally use second-class signed-for for heavier items. We offer an express courier service at checkout at £11, where we will provide a courier, to try and ensure that we get the item to you next day, provided it is ordered within working hours.
- European orders are charged at £15.35 - the standard cost to us for a parcel up to 2kg across Europe.
- Worldwide orders are charged at £32.15 - the standard cost to us for a parcel up to 2kg for the rest of the world.
- Smaller, lighter items may be sent at lower rates, or a service that can take a week or two to arrive can be used, do contact us for a quote, we're always happy to see if we can get your order to you as inexpensively as possible.
- Some jackets are sent with a Gun Hill branded jacket holder. If this is not returned with any returns there is a subsequent £5.00 deduction from the refund.
Store pick-up and local delivery
If you've chosen store pick up, your item(s) will be ready for you usually within two hours. If you would like them sooner (or later) just let us know and we'll do our best to help. If you live in a mile radius of the store at Burnham Market, we'll deliver it ourselves, usually during the day, but occasionally on our way home.
Returns, refunds and size changes
If you're not happy with any item, please return it to us in its original packaging in the same condition we sent it with tags still attached and we'll refund or replace or work something out with you. No worries. You can just send it to us at:
